Working with Chaos Group's V-Ray on 'Don't be Afraid of the Dark', 'Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance' and 'TED', Drew Wood-Davies, the Lead Lighter at Iloura Digital Pictures in Melbourne, Australia talks about the elements where everyone in the pipeline can get their hands on the software.
V-Ray presents some live set progression sequences in the 'Don't be Afraid of the Dark' movie as well as 'Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance'. Drew details the Iloura workflow and the use of different elements in V-Ray to get the right results, including the creation of smoke, flame and the rendering of several CG pyro dynamics used for the final shots.
