The committee for the SIGGRAPH ASIA 2011, taking place in Hong Kong in December has announced the inclusion of a new Inaugural Symposium on Apps.
This is to answer the community's demand for innovation and more sophistication, portability and ubiquitous connectivity in the market of Superphones and tablets.
The program aims to educate and explore how visual and animation techniques are applied on mobile devices to enhance the experience for end users and drive the use of advanced graphics capabilities on the multitude of new devices available today.
Neil Trevett is the co-Chair of the Symposium on Apps, as well as President of Khronos Group and the VP of Mobile Content at NVIDIA. He recognised that the development and marketing of mobile apps is the new frontier for the graphics industry.
"The first Symposium of Apps at SIGGRAPH ASIA 2011 in Hong Kong will be a lively forum with the industry. This is a great opportunity for community learning and sharing real-world experiences," Trevett said.
Submitters to SIGGRAPH Asia’s Symposium on Apps can consider participating in presentations, panel discussions, workshops, and exhibits. Deadline is 15 September.
