While only 200-ish days remain until the SIGGRAPH conference visits Los Angeles once again, Anaheim and Vancouver have been named as the following year's SIGGRAPH homes..
The SIGGRAPH Committee has officially announced the location cities for the 2013 and 2014 conferences. The 2013 Conference will be staged in the Anaheim district of California with Mk Haley as conference Chair. The 2013 SIGGRAPH show will celebrate the 40th International Conference and Exhibition from 21-25 July 2013. Haley will be celebrating her 25th year with SIGGRAPH, fulfilling a number of volunteer roles during this time, including Student Volunteer Chair, Emerging Technologies Chair, Director of Communications for the Executive Committee, and last year's conference director.
Then in 2014, SIGGRAPH will return to Vancouver CANADA. SIGGRAPH 2011 broke Vancouver’s previous all-time conference attendance records. The 2014 SIGGRAPH conference will be from 10-14 August with Dave Shreiner as Chair. Shreiner is Director of Graphics Technology at ARM Inc. and has worked for the past 25 years as presenter and a volunteer.
“We are thrilled to be returning to these cities and it is a testament to their popularity both with our attendees and exhibitors,” said Joe Marks, SIGGRAPH Conference Advisory Group Chair from Disney Research at The Walt Disney Company. “The fact that we are returning to Canada is a direct reflection of its strong and growing computer graphics community.”
Both conferences plan to build on previous years' achievements, showcasing the latest advances in computer graphics and interactive techniques, including animation, art, research, software, visualization, and education. SIGGRAPH provides attendees—from students to experts—the opportunity to gain amazing insights, enrich their skill set, and expand their worldwide contacts.
