Sophia Antipolis, France (September 2, 2002) - REALVIZ®, a leader in image processing software development, has announced the availability of MatchMover® 2.5 Professional. REALVIZ MatchMover Professional is the professional way to automatically track 3D camera data and motion from videos and film sequences. Start tracking Automatically, and if necessary, move smoothly back and forth between Automatic and Manual processes, with no interruption of workflow, providing the ease of automatic tracking, with the precision control matchmoving professionals demand.
REALVIZ MatchMover 2.5 Professional, which launched in July at Siggraph 2002 in San Antonio, has added significant high-end features to the existing product, including the ability to create and handle mattes, to merge multiple instances of tracked features, limit the number of tracks, and add 3D locators without resolving the shot, as well as now offering new export options to programs such as Discreet® Flint®/ Flame®/ Inferno® and Apple® Shake®. A Linux® version of MatchMover Professional is also slated for release in January 2003, bringing the application to an even wider audience.
"Since we launched the product in January of this year, there has been an unprecedented level of interest." said Patrick Dumas, REALVIZ Chief Operating Officer "People love the flexibility and confidence that MatchMover Professional affords them, as well as drastically reducing the turnaround time on their projects. In a recent case, a client reduced a four week project to just 5 days work. In real terms, this is a godsend for the leagues of digital artists out there, working to often impossible deadlines."
"REALVIZ MatchMover 2.5 Professional now offers the user even more control and flexibility. The flood of data produced using the automated tracking can be easily manipulated and refined to 'nail' the trickiest of shots. The addition exports means that tracking data generated can be used for a variety of different purposes." Jason Baker, Lead Tracker, Framestore CFC.
REALVIZ' production-proven applications have been used for incredible effects in various feature film and television projects, including, most recently, the lavish Hallmark Entertainment miniseries, 'Dinotopia' which aired in the US in May 2002, and which is also scheduled for broadcast in the UK, France, Canada, Venezuela, Thailand, and Ireland, as well as big-screen blockbusters such as "Hart's War", starring Bruce Willis, "Life As A House", "Swordfish", "Captain Corelli's Mandolin", "Enemy At The Gates", "Driven", "Monkey Bone", and many others.
