The Foundry has announced the launch of their compositing superstars NUKE and NUKEX 6.3v7.
The studio's new release concentrates on making the movement of assets between NUKE & NUKEX, and those other packages in the pipeline, as easy as possible. The modified .PSD handling will be of particular interest to those in charge of projects using deep compositing.
In this latest release, The Foundry has implemented industry standard color management through the integration of new OpenColorIO (OCIO) developed at Sony Pictures Imageworks. The introduction of OCIO to NUKE and NUKEX means that color management is now unified across all of The Foundry’s software offerings, so users will see the same color in NUKE as they do in MARI, HIERO and KATANA. The OCIO standard is also being adopted by other software applications including Silhouette.
The Foundry have also announced an advanced new RenderMan integration for working the render farms, and the improved integration by mirroring MARI’s UDIM functionality in NUKE to support multiple texture patches per model. for those using MARI as well, with the NUKE>MARI Bridge in productions.
