MARI for Mac

Tue 8th Oct 2013 | News

The Foundry has moved to bring the 3D Digital Painting application, MARI to the Mac in OS X versions. MARI is known to allow 3D artists to paint directly onto models with hi-res textures. Roll the 3D model around to continue the process in 3D. There is a 15-day free trial of MARI for the Mac available on The Foundry web site.

In March 2013, The Foundry launched MARI 2.0, the latest version of the software, featuring a brand new, artist-focused layer system. This major release focused on further enhancing the painting experience for 3D artists. The addition of the new layer system means MARI is easier to use than ever before and will be a familiar working environment for users of Photoshop and other layer based paint tools.

The Foundry announced MARI for the Mac in June at Apple’s Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) with a special session to preview the 3D painting application running on the new Mac Pro.

“We announced that MARI would be coming to the Mac at WWDC 2013 earlier this year, and are excited to be releasing it to the market today,” said Jack Greasley, MARI Product Manager at The Foundry. “MARI is such a powerful and artist-friendly application. We know MARI is a great fit for the Mac and can’t wait to see what users can do with this truly amazing tool on Apple’s hardware.”

Until October 31st 2013, The Foundry is offering 25% off MARI on all platforms. Pricing with the discount is £905.00 / $1,495.00 / €1,085.00.

MARI for the Mac is introduced with version 2.5 which is available now on all platforms.
