DMG Publishing is proud to announce the appointment of Dan Ablan as the new Editor-in-Chief of Keyframe Magazine. Ablan has been involved in the video production and animation industry for over 13 years. He is also well known as an animator and author, with publications under his belt such as the widely popular books, "Inside LightWave 7" and "Digital Cinematography & Directing," as well as four other LightWave books from New Riders Publishing. Ablan has worked on projects for NASA, United Airlines, Fox Television, Midway Games, AC Nielsen, Wendy's Corp., McDonald's Corp. and many others. Ablan's wide knowledge is due to the fact that he is a working animator and producer with his own business, AGA Digital Studios, Inc. in Chicago.
Keyframe has been a resource for many digital artists for years. Ablan's appointment as Editor-in-Chief brings a fine mix of production, animation and publishing skills to the magazine. He has an established name in the LightWave community, as well as an excellent relationship with users. Ablan's mission will be to strengthen the foundation of the magazine and help steer its direction in the future.
"I'm both excited and honored to be a part of such a great publication. DMG Publishing has established an excellent managerial and writing staff, which has made the magazine an industry standard. We have many great things planned for the magazine and its readers," says Ablan.
Keyframe Magazine has been published since January 1997 and provides an invaluable resource for users of NewTek's LightWave 3D, Video Toaster, Photoshop and other digital tools. These readers are using animation and visual effects media in their daily lives for photography, architecture, advertising, websites, medicine, training, games and feature films.
