Gentilly, France, January 13, 2003 -- Bionatics, world leader in plant simulation and modeling solutions, is proud to announce the Bionatics’ Animation & Image contest. Bionatics first ever contest will give entrants a chance to win a full license of either natFX for Maya, natFX for 3ds max or EASYnat for AUTODESK VIZ with entire plant library.
The Challenge :
Create 1-ten to twenty second (mpeg/avi 320x480 or 640x960) animation OR 1 still image on any theme (architecture, video game, animation, etc..) using one of the demos (natFX 1.5 for 3ds max, natFX 2.0 for Maya, EASYnat for VIZ given the user's platform) that is available for download at Bionatics’ website. Entries will be judged on innovation, artistic quality and as well technical merit. You are free to use your imagination !
The Prize :
1st place : one full license with entire plant database of winner's selected demo. For instance, winner uses natFX 2.0 for Maya, he will receive one full natFX 2.0 for Maya license with entire plant database for natFX 2.0 for Maya.
2nd place : one full license with 50 plants of choice of winner's selected demo.
3rd place : one full license with 10 plants of choice of winner's selected demo.
The animation OR images must present the given plants in a concise manner. Only one entry per contestant using one demo is allowed. All entries need to be sent on CD (CD’s will not be returned), by March 4th to the following address :

Still images whose total max size is no more than 5 meg may be sent by e-mail to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Entry/Consent Forms :
To enter, entrants must download the Bionatics’ Animation & Image Contest Consent Form from the site (located on same page as demo). The form must be completed and sent with accompanying CD or faxed to Bionatics at +33 4 99 61 46 89.
Winning entries will be selected by an international jury of editors including Jeff Mottle of CGarchitect.com, Jean-François Lepage from CG Focus, Marc Furnó from 3D y Animación, Tom Greenway from 3dtotal, Olivier Perrot from 3DVF and the Bionatics’ team. Winning entries will then be contacted by e-mail or telephone.
